Words cannot express the pride I am feeling for being able to visit an official racquetball court in India. The opportunity to contribute to coach, give guidance, speak racquetball with the players, coaches, and the community there has been very fulfilling!
This trip originated because of my interest to understand the sport in India … and soon it became a camp under the leadership of Alok Mehta and Nand Singh.
For folks who are not aware: this court has been built in a town named Gondia (city), Maharashtra (state) in India. The airport in this city serves only one flight in and out per day. I am being told that this is the first fully built out racquetball court in India, and it felt very much like the courts that I play in the US. Kudos to the team: Mahender Kamboj, Dr. Arun Kawde, Jwala Turkar, Rituraj Yadav Ritz and others involved. Their grass root efforts is truly commendable. Add to that, the hospitality extended was truly remarkable. I look forward to going back there again.
Kudos to Indian Racquetball Association, and Maharashtra Racquetball Association.
